The homecoming dance is a time for good clean fun.

Central High School’s 2026 homecoming is coming up this Friday the 25th. Many students have been looking forward to the dance, whether to go with a partner, or just some friends. Here are some things to know about the dance.

“I expect about 600 to 700 students to be at the dance,” says senior advisor Callum Dewar. He further explains that there will be around twelve chaperones to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all attendants.

In past years Central’s homecoming has run smoothly; this year is no exception. Officer McMullin has guaranteed a safe homecoming. “Nothing ever goes wrong; we just have to ensure students don’t vape. Have fun, just no vaping.”

Although it is a safe environment, it is still important to be aware of your surroundings. If you have a bag, it is better to check it in with the chaperones than to leave it unattended. This is a school sanctioned event, so it is important to remember the rules that always apply: no vaping or smoking any substances. It is encouraged to dress up in your finest clothing, as long as it is still school appropriate.

“Being my 30th year at Central, I just think homecoming is a good time to come together to celebrate,” says security guard and football coach, Ryle Fenner.

Whether you go for a chance to show off your dance moves to your peers, or for a chance to put on a fancy dress and hang out with your friends, homecoming is a special high school experience.
