Don’t let the score fool you–this game was close. Freshman lefty Cole Holzer kept the O’Gorman’s hitters off balance for four innings of relief pitching, leaving the Cobblers within two runs of the Knights, but the O’Gorman bats would not stay silent enough. They exploded for seven of their runs in the final inning, finishing off the Cobblers 13-4.
The loss was not too bitter for the 15-17 Cobblers, however, as they finished the year as state runners-up, having defeated the top ranked team, Watertown, in the semi-finals.
