This Thursday, October 14, Central’s guidance department will be holding a career fair in the commons during 3rd block. This career fair is a great way for students from Central to see all the opportunities within our community that one may seize upon after high school. This career fair allows students the ability to look into a job that they may be interested in and find out what the specifications for that job are.
Along with looking into the future, this career fair also helps students in the present, with many a teacher giving some extra-credit points for visiting one of the booths. Students attending the booths should have a few questions to ask the people in those careers, including but not limited to: What classes should I take in high school? What type of education is required for this field? What do you do in a typical day? For students who are not sure that there will be a booth that interests them, the topics of these booths range from jobs in government to jobs in hospitality. Students are encouraged to come on down to the commons during their lunch period and check out all of the great booths that will be there.
The booths scheduled to be there are:
- Mid-Continent Testing Laboratory
- RESPEC Engineering, Informational Technologies, and Water and Natural Resources
- Highmark Federal Credit Union
- RCAS Human Resources
- SD Game Fish and Parks
- Rapid City Regional Hospital
- Butler Machine
- SD Dept. of Labor
- Rapid City Fire Dept.
- Rapid City Police Dept.
- Colonial House Restaurant Chef
- Youth and Family Services
Hope to see you there!
