As the temperatures dip below zero, Lacy Payne sent us a shot many folks are longing to see in real life–flowers. Lacy showed this shot at the 2010 Lakota Nation Art Show, and she says of the photo: “This picture is meant to represent waking up in the morning. I turned down the saturation because I wanted the feeling to be that moment when you wake up and your eyes are adjusting to the lights and colors. Is it possible for plants to feel as we, humans, do?”
If you have a photo you’d like to submit, please email the photo, your name, and the story behind the photo to chspineneedle at gmail dot com. For having her photo selected, Lacy receives two tickets to a Cobbler varsity home game.
