Boys’ Golf Finishes Well, Graduates Most of the Team

The Cobblers golf season came to an end in Watertown recently at the State AA High School Tournament. The team took 9th place, which is ahead of where they expected to come out. Overall it was a good year, but what is in store for next season?

The team will be losing five senior varsity players including Noah Fenske, Jake Preble, Tucker Berg, Cory Iwan and Joey Vanderpol. This leaves one varsity player left, Connor McCormick. Connor has played on the varsity team since 9th grade and will be the team’s leading veteran. “We may be a young team next year but I have no doubt that we can be successful,” says McCormick.

The state tournament will be held at Meadowbrook Golf Course next season which is the home course of the Cobblers. This will give the team a great advantage over the visiting east river schools.
