Rural America Initiatives Head Start held their yearly Make N’ Take on Dec. 8. The Make N’ Take consists of having the staff bring in craft supplies and letting the children make them into holiday knick-knacks. “It takes a lot of work to plan Make N’ Take, it’s stressful but somehow we always manage it.” said head nutritionist Geraldine Gabaldon. The Make N’ Take was held at Mother Butler gymnasium, where more than 300 plus people were in attendance. That’s A LOT of people and also it’s the biggest one yet!
Rural America Initiatives also provided tasty finger foods and refreshments like veggie platters, sandwich platters, chicken strips, orange chicken, chicken wings (varying from hot, BBQ, buffalo and many different flavors!), water, soda, juice and coffee. Kids are always looking forward to the Make N’ Take every year. “I always come here every year to see my old teachers and make some Christmas ornaments.” said 10 year old Yanabah Richards. Christmas is a holiday where many celebrate and enjoy. It’s a season filled with generosity, laughter and fun-filled memories to be remembered for many years to come!
